June on the Farm

June on the Farm

Farmers always think first and foremost about the weather and generally it is never just right!.

It therefore seems unusual to be able to say that the weather has been perfect during May with both plentiful sun and just enough rain to keep everything green. The cattle are all outdoors grazing happily and there has been a bumper crop of grass for silage. It is just a pity that milk, beef and corn prices paid to the farmer are all dropping drastically (not the time to talk about that though!).

The good weather is attracting more visitors to the area this year helped by the publicity from Broadchurch and Far From The Madding Crowd, the latter being a ‘must see’ if you havent already.

Cassie, our new Jack Russell addition to the farm, is proving to be a big hit with our children visitors and it is interesting to see who gets tired first…at the moment it is the Cassie!.
