Wonderful country location near beaches. Very pleasant stay

We just got back from a 1 week's stay in the Barn cottage. We were a family of 4 adults and 2 children (3 and 4 years old).
The stay was overall enjoyable, and the accommodation was clean and secure. The furnishings suited young children and the garden was large enough for them to play.
We did however have problems with the very small fridge with icebox. This was not large enough for our family's food and drink, plus it wasn't very cold. We informed the owners so hopefully, this will be replaced.
The location is great but you wouldn't really know you were on a working farm. We didn't see many animals including chickens (also no eggs as we were told they weren't laying wherever they were) and the only farm activity on offer to the children was feeding the sheep which they didn't particularly enjoy....probably because we have done other farm stays where you can hand feed them and even cuddle the sheep. These sheep are young so you can't do that (they have sharp teeth) which left our children feeling disappointed.
So even though we enjoyed our stay we didn't feel it was good value because we paid a lot of money for what we thought was farm experience too for our little ones.
Highly recommend booking a Jurassic Safari nearby (Charminster) as it was the best fun even though it was raining that day! The farmer running it, Gary, is the most knowledgeable and loveliest person ever!

A beautiful cottage set in the middle of farm land. Clean and well presented with good facilities. Lovely garden and a games room nearby when it rained! Would totally recommend for a relaxing break.

Barn Cottage is an absolute gem on the Jurassic Coast. The cottage is lovely and spacious, which 2 good sized doubles and a good sized twin room too, so plenty of room for everyone. We were a party of 2 families, with 2 babies and a 4-year-old between us, and we felt like there was plenty of room for us all.

Chrissie greeted me on arrival and gave me a tour of the place, which was great. She was lovely and very hospitable - if there was anything we needed, we just needed to send a (Hidden by Airbnb) message.

The garden is enclosed, which is brilliant if you bring your dog (as we did).

There's a brick BBQ in the garden and some nice garden furniture too - perfect for sunny weather.

When we arrived, all the rooms were made up and ready. The house was super clean. A hairdryer was left out for us, and a travel cot was left out for us too (as requested). They had also left little travel soaps/shampoos in the bathrooms, plus there was wahsing up liquid, a sponge, and dishwasher tablets provided as well.

Also, there were some welcome biscuits too - lovely!

The farm itself has some lambs while we were there, so that was nice, and they have hens too, so there were fresh eggs in an honesty box, which we enjoyed (those yolks!!).

Oh, and lastly, there's a separate games room on site (so, not part of Barn Cottage, but part of the farm), which has table tennis and a snooker table inside.

We will definitely be staying here again. You're so close to the coast and so many coastal towns - it's perfectly situated.

We stayed for 5 nights in Barn Cottage which is a beautiful cottage on a working farm - complete with cows, hens and some gorgeous lambs. The cottage is very spacious and well appointed, lovely upstairs bathroom and three spacious bedrooms and a large living room and dining room so there is plenty of room for all. The garden is stunning, we were blessed with perfect weather and made good use of it to relax in (as much as our granddaughter allowed!) and it was perfect for sundowners 🙂 Our Labrador came with us and thoroughly enjoyed his stay, there are some lovely beaches on the doorstep and lots of walks which we will hopefully be able to enjoy on future visits.

We had a wonderful few days at Graston Farm, the cottage is beautiful and the setting and location is idyllic. Such a great spot for exploring the Jurassic coast.

Loved this farm stay! The garden is a glorious sun trap, which is where we spent most of our time. The house is in a row with a few other holiday houses and though they all looked full we didn't hear anyone, it felt very secluded. The beaches/scenic points nearby are gorgeous, and we recommend the Parlour for dinner, drinks & live music - within walking distance. The house itself is lovely, though the kitchen is on the smaller side - we could only fit 2 people comfortably at a time. There's a lovely walk from the house to Burton Bradstock/Hive Beach. We were slightly disappointed we didn't get to interact with more animals on the farm, but really enjoyed getting to see some baby lambs while we were there. All in all would definitely stay again, highly recommend this lovely house in a gorgeous location

Perfect holiday setting for young families. We collected eggs for breakfast and strolled through fields and along streams to the beach, park and pubs. highly recommended 😁

We really enjoyed our stay at Barn Cottage. The location was perfect - very quiet but within 30 mins walk of the local village and beach. The barn was super clean and had lots of space with a nice character / cosy feel. The garden was beautiful and secure for our dog as well.
